HostiGuard Drive for Windows: install and sync

Requirements

• Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit (x64).
• An active HostiGuard cloud storage plan, or a team space you were invited to.

Install

1. Open the Download Center and press Download for Windows (Setup .exe). When the Microsoft Store edition is listed there, you can choose it instead: it is the same app, installed and updated by Windows.
2. To be sure the file is genuine, compare its SHA-256 checksum with the one shown in the Download Center (how to check), then run the setup.
3. Sign in with your HostiGuard e-mail and password. If two-step verification is on, enter the code as well.
4. Choose the cloud space and the folder on your PC.

How sync works

• Two-way: what you put in the folder is uploaded, and changes made on the web, in your dashboard or by your team come back to your PC.
• Choose which folders stay on this PC to save disk space.
• Deleted files go to the Trash for 30 days and earlier versions are kept, so a mistake can be undone.
• Share links and team spaces work from the app too.

Everyday use

• The app starts with Windows and runs from the tray next to the clock, where you can pause and resume sync.
• HostiGuard Drive appears in File Explorer.
• In the settings you can limit the upload and download speed and add an optional PIN lock.
• The Setup .exe edition updates itself; the Microsoft Store edition is updated by Windows.

Files that cloud storage does not accept (for example .exe, .bat or .php files) are not uploaded.
