Moving a domain or hosting to another HostiGuard account
You can move a domain or a hosting plan from your account to another HostiGuard account yourself, without a registrar transfer and without reinstalling anything. Other services (SSL certificates, servers, e-mail plans and the rest) cannot be moved between accounts this way — contact support.
Before you start
- The receiving account must already exist. You enter its e-mail address or username.
- The service must have no unpaid invoice.
- Enough time must be left before the service expires: at least 30 days for hosting and 60 days for a domain. If less is left, renew it first.
- Your password is asked to confirm the request.
Moving a domain
- Open Dashboard → Domains, open the domain and choose the Change owner tab.
- Enter the recipient's e-mail or username and your password, then send.
- The recipient gets a notification and an e-mail with an Accept button. They have 72 hours to accept or decline.
- Until they accept, the domain stays in your account and you can cancel the request.
Moving hosting
- Open Dashboard → Hosting, press Manage next to the plan and choose Change owner.
- Enter the recipient's e-mail or username, the reason for the move (for example: you sold the website) and your password. The request shows Under review.
- Our team reviews it and e-mails you the decision. If it is not approved, the e-mail gives the reason.
- Once approved, press Transfer now. The new owner accepts from their dashboard or from the e-mail within 72 hours.
The website files, e-mail accounts and databases move with the hosting — nothing has to be reinstalled.
Good to know
- Invoices already paid stay in your account; future renewals are billed to the new owner.
- If you do not see Change owner, transfers are not available for your account — contact support.
- Team members can only start a transfer if you give them the Move domains or Move hosting permission (Team access).
