Proxy Service Policy

Rules for ordering and using HostiGuard proxy services. This policy is part of the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy.

event Last Updated: October 13, 2026

HostiGuard provides dedicated proxy IP addresses for lawful business and technical purposes only. By ordering a proxy service you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted this policy in full.

If you do not agree with any part of this policy, do not order or use the service.

1. Scope

This policy applies to every proxy plan, IP address, port and credential issued by HostiGuard, to every account that orders one, and to every person who uses them, including a reseller's customers.

It applies in addition to the Terms of Service, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Privacy Policy. Where this policy is stricter, this policy prevails.

2. Lawful use only

Proxies may be used only for lawful purposes such as market research, price comparison, SEO monitoring, ad verification, brand protection, QA and application testing, academic research, and privacy for ordinary browsing.

You are solely responsible for complying with the laws of your country, of the country where the IP address is located, and of any country you access through the proxy, as well as with the terms of service of every website or service you access.

3. Prohibited uses

The following are strictly forbidden: fraud of any kind, including payment fraud, carding, account takeover, identity theft or chargeback abuse; creating or operating fake accounts, bots or sock-puppets; spam, phishing, malware distribution or command-and-control traffic;

DDoS or any attack on networks or systems; unauthorised access, scanning or probing of systems you do not own or have permission to test; bypassing sanctions, export controls, age-verification or geo-restriction rules in a way that violates the law;

scraping or collecting personal data in violation of data-protection law; access to child sexual abuse material or any content that is illegal in the country of the user or of the IP; harassment, stalking or threats; copyright or trademark infringement, including illegal streaming or torrenting;

reselling or sharing the proxies outside your own organisation (except through the approved HostiGuard reseller programme); and any use that damages the reputation of our IP ranges or results in blacklisting.

4. Identity verification and confirmed e-mail

A proxy service can only be ordered from an account whose e-mail address has been confirmed and whose billing address is complete and accurate.

We may at any time, before or after activation, ask you for identity documents, proof of address, proof of business, or a description of the intended use. The service may stay pending, or be suspended, until the documents are received and reviewed. Providing false information is a material breach of this policy.

5. Usage logs and data retention

HostiGuard records which account was assigned which IP address and when, which account viewed or changed its proxy credentials, connection metadata (timestamps, source IP, bytes transferred) and authentication events. These logs are kept for at least 90 days and longer where the law or an investigation requires it.

We do not inspect the content of your traffic in the normal course of business. Logs may be reviewed to investigate abuse reports, to protect our network, and to answer lawful requests from law-enforcement or regulatory authorities.

6. Abuse reports

Abuse reports concerning any HostiGuard proxy IP address must be sent to abuse@hostiguard.com with the IP address, the timestamp (with time zone) and the evidence. We acknowledge every report and act on it, usually within one business day.

If you become aware that your proxies have been used in breach of this policy, you must notify us at the same address immediately.

7. Origin of the IP addresses

Our proxy IP addresses are obtained from data-centre partners and upstream providers under written agreements that allow their use for this service. We do not use residential devices without the consent of their owners and we do not operate botnets.

IP addresses remain the property of HostiGuard or its providers. We may replace an IP address at any time for technical, legal or reputational reasons.

8. Sanctions and restricted countries

We do not sell or provide proxy services to persons, companies or countries subject to sanctions of the United States, the European Union or the United Nations, and the checkout automatically blocks orders whose billing address is in a sanctioned country.

You confirm that you are not a sanctioned person and that you will not use the service for the benefit of a sanctioned person or country, nor to evade sanctions or export controls.

9. Immediate suspension, termination and no refund

HostiGuard may suspend or permanently terminate a proxy service, and any other service or the whole account, immediately and without prior notice, whenever we suspect fraud, abuse, a violation of this policy or of the law, or a risk to our network or reputation. Suspicion alone is sufficient; we are not required to prove a violation first.

We are not obliged to give the reasons for a suspension or termination, nor to provide the evidence on which it is based. Services terminated under this section are not refunded, in whole or in part, and any remaining prepaid period is forfeited.

We may also report the activity to the relevant authorities and to our upstream providers, and we may retain the account data for as long as needed to handle the case.

10. Your responsibility

You are responsible for everything done through the proxies issued to your account, whether by you, your staff, your customers or anyone who obtained the credentials from you. Keep the credentials secret and rotate them if you suspect a leak.

You agree to indemnify HostiGuard against any claim, fine, damage or cost arising from your use of the service in breach of this policy.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy at any time; the current version is always published on this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means that you accept it. Material changes are announced in the dashboard.
