This policy explains how we bill every HOSTI GUARD LLC service and what happens when a service reaches its renewal date. It forms part of our Terms of Service (hostiguard.com/terms). Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy (hostiguard.com/refund-policy).
1. Billing cycles and prices
- Every service is paid in advance for the billing cycle chosen when ordering — monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or yearly. Domain names are billed per year.
- Prices are in US dollars unless another currency is shown, and do not include taxes or bank charges.
- Promotional prices apply to the first billing period only; renewals are charged at the regular price.
- We may change our prices for future renewals. A price change never affects a period you have already paid.
2. Invoices
An invoice is issued for every order, renewal, upgrade and add-on, and is always available in your client area, where you can download, print or share it. A service is activated only when its invoice is paid in full. Reseller invoices are kept in a separate section of your client area.
3. Payment methods
The payment methods available are the ones shown on the payment page for your account and country — for example cards, PayPal, bank transfer and your account balance. Some methods are offered only to existing customers.
- Bank transfers are credited when the funds reach our account.
- Your account balance can be topped up once and used to pay any invoice instantly.
- Fees charged by your bank or payment provider are your responsibility.
4. Renewals
- We send reminder e-mails before a service expires, starting 20 days before the expiry date.
- You can renew early from your client area, for one or several periods. A renewal always extends the service from its current expiry date, so no paid time is lost.
- On the expiry date a renewal invoice is created automatically and is due within 7 days.
- Add-ons active on a service are added to its renewal invoice.
- Proxy orders placed as one time are not renewed automatically.
- Domain names must be renewed before they expire. After expiry, renewal depends on the registry's rules and may require a redemption fee.
5. Late payment, suspension and termination
- A service that reaches its expiry date without being renewed is suspended automatically. Paying the renewal invoice reactivates it.
- If the service remains unpaid after its expiry date, HostiGuard may terminate it and permanently delete its data and backups. The period before termination varies by service type, is set at HostiGuard's sole discretion and may be as short as a few days; HostiGuard is not required to give reasons for terminating a service.
- Expired domain names follow the registry's expiry and redemption timelines and may be lost if they are not renewed in time.
6. Upgrades and add-ons
- You can upgrade to a higher plan at any time. You pay only the price difference for the part of the current period that is left; the new plan's price applies from the next renewal.
- Downgrades to a lower plan are not available during a paid period.
- If you are already on the highest plan, open a ticket with our Sales team for a custom offer.
- Add-ons ordered during a period are charged for the rest of that period and then renew together with the service.
7. Cancellation
You can cancel a service from your client area or by opening a ticket. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Unused time is not refunded except where our Refund Policy (hostiguard.com/refund-policy) allows it, and unpaid invoices remain payable.
8. Billing questions and disputes
Please contact our billing team at billing@hostiguard.com within 30 days of the invoice date with any question or disagreement — almost every issue is settled quickly. Opening a chargeback without contacting us first is handled as described in our Terms of Service (hostiguard.com/terms).
