Today we are launching the HostiGuard reference. Every SSL certificate bought through HostiGuard now has a unique number, such as HG-SSL-2026-7K3QX9. Anyone can enter it and see the official record of the certificate. It is a simple way to show visitors that your site is the real one.
What the HostiGuard reference shows
- The domain the certificate was issued for.
- The certificate authority, the product and the validation level.
- The issue and expiry dates.
- Whether the certificate installed on the domain matches.
- The current status: verified, pending, expired or not valid.
The page opens on its own, without menus or adverts. It is clean enough to link from any website.
Where to find your number
Go to your dashboard and open SSL Certificates. Click Manage on a certificate. The new card shows your number with two buttons. One copies the public link, and the other opens the page.
Add the link to your footer, your checkout page or your about page. Customers who want to check can do it in one click.
Checking someone else's certificate
Every page on our site now has a reference box at the bottom. Type the number and press Verify. You can also open the reference lookup page directly. If the number does not exist, the page says so clearly.
Verified businesses
Companies can go one step further with business verification. After our team checks their documents, the record shows a verified business mark. They can also choose to display their company name and registration number.

Does it cost anything? No, every certificate gets a reference for free. What happens when a certificate expires? The page shows it as expired until you renew. Can I hide the page? The page shows only public certificate details, the same data browsers can already see.
