How to check a certificate with its HostiGuard reference
Every SSL certificate bought through HostiGuard receives a unique HostiGuard reference, for example HG-SSL-2026-7K3QX9. Anyone can use it to open the official record of the certificate.
Where to find your reference
Go to Dashboard → SSL Certificates and click Manage on the certificate. The HostiGuard reference & verification card shows the number with two buttons:
- Copy certificate link — copies the public link of the certificate page so you can add it to your website (in the footer, next to a security badge, or on your “About” page).
- Open certificate page — opens the page in a new tab.
How to search by reference number
- Scroll to the bottom of any page on hostiguard.com.
- Type the number in the HostiGuard reference box and click Verify.
- The certificate page opens on its own, without menus.
You can also open hostiguard.com/reference directly and enter the number there.
What the page shows
- The domain the certificate was issued for, the certificate authority, the product and the validation level.
- The issue and expiry dates, and whether the certificate installed on the domain matches.
- The status: Verified (valid), Pending (not issued yet), Expired (not renewed) or Not valid (cancelled).
- For verified businesses, the “Verified business” mark — with the company name and registration number when the company-name display is active.
If the page says that no record matches, check the number with the website owner. To verify your own business, read How to apply for SSL business verification.
